LaunchKey does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no network requests of any kind.

Overview

LaunchKey is a macOS menu bar utility that lets you launch and switch between Dock apps using keyboard shortcuts. It runs entirely on your device. This privacy policy explains what minimal local data the app reads and writes to function correctly.

Data We Do Not Collect

LaunchKey does not collect, process, or transmit:

LaunchKey makes no outbound network requests.

Local Preferences

LaunchKey stores two small preference values on your device using macOS UserDefaults. These values never leave your Mac:

These values are stored in your app's sandboxed preferences container and are not shared with anyone.

Accessibility Permission

LaunchKey requests macOS Accessibility permission, which is required to:

This access is used solely to perform the window-management actions you trigger with your keyboard shortcuts. LaunchKey does not read the content of any window, monitor what you type, or observe any user activity beyond responding to the specific keyboard shortcuts you configure.

You can revoke Accessibility access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Dock Configuration

LaunchKey queries the live Dock process via the macOS Accessibility API to determine the order of apps pinned to your Dock. This information is used only in the moment you press a shortcut and is never stored persistently by LaunchKey or sent anywhere.

Third-Party Services

LaunchKey does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-processing services.

Children's Privacy

LaunchKey does not collect any information from any user, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is ever updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Because LaunchKey collects no personal data, any future changes are unlikely to affect your privacy in a meaningful way.
